Background

Mostafa received his PhD from the Technical University of Dresden in Germany in mechanical engineering. He has worked for more than two decades in automotive, railway and aerospace applications. He is an international pioneer in the design and development of bioinspired mechanical metamaterials and vibroacoustic. He has very deep roots in passive noise and vibration control technologies and developed novel methods over the last two decades for noise mitigations. He has extensive international experiences in industrial research, delivering of high-quality teaching, supervision, and giving key-note speeches. He is endorsed as a talent in design of mechanical metamaterials by the UK Royal Academy of Engineering in 2023.

Mostafa is the member of Noise and Vibration Engineering Committee of Institute of Acoustics. Also, he is the member of the underwater acoustics committee of the IOA. Furthermore, he is the fellow of higher education academy (FHEA). Currently, he is the Director of Advanced Mechanical Engineering (AME) MSc Course in Cranfield University.
